PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Following several incidents of missing persons in and around Plettenberg Bay in recent months, local police have shared a few tips on how to handle the situation when a loved one disappeared.
Police spokesman Captain Marlene Pieterse said it was important to note that there was no “waiting period” to report a missing person. “Doing so swiftly can save a life,” Pieterse said.
She added that it was also helpful to remember to provide police with as much information as possible when reporting the matter to a local police station.
“It would be beneficial to provide police with the latest photograph of the missing person. This ensures a more effective search operation.”
Pieterse said it was also vital to keep the investigating officer in the matter updated on any development as frequently as possible.
