PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Drugs worth about R650 000 - hidden beneath fresh vegetables - were confiscated by police at a roadblock near Plettenberg Bay on Thursday 23 April.
Police spokesman Sergeant Chris Spies said police officers stopped a white Toyota Hilux at a roadblock on the N2 near the coastal holiday town.
He said the driver of the vehicle was unable to produce any form of documentation with regards to his movement and was therefore subsequently escorted to the Plettenberg Bay police station to verify his credentials.
“On arrival, the police conducted a thorough search of the vehicle and found the dagga stashed under the vegetables,” Spies said.
The 35-year-old driver was arrested and is scheduled to appear in the local magistrates court once he has been charged with dealing in drugs.
