KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna police and the community policing forum (CPF) are asking the community of Knysna to assist them in the search for a 42-year-old Concordia man who was last seen on Sunday 5 April.
Zimasile Matata Mecucio Valela was last seen on 5 April and his family opened a missing person's case on 13 April.
Police spokesperson Captain Malcom Pojie described the man as having a crew cut with dreadlocks on top and a moustache. "According to the family he was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue-and-white golf T-shirt and brown sandals,” he said.
Anyone with information that could assist the police in finding Valela is requested to contact the Knysna police on 044 302 6608/9 or 10111.
They can also contact the investigating officer Warrant Officer J Visagie on 073 335 0827 or Knysna CPF chair Cheryl Britz on 082 574 9637.
In a telephonic interview on Monday, Britz said, “The search is ongoing. On Friday and Saturday, Knysna police, Visagie and the Valela family searched all over Knysna loudhailing but they found nothing,” she said.
Britz called on the people of Knysna to work together and inform the police with any information regarding the whereabouts of Valela.
