A number of other stolen items were recovered at the same time as the bicycle.
A few days earlier she had noticed a post on social media about a bicycle that had been stolen in Plett.
"I informed the Bitou Crime Prevention Unit. Not quite 30 minutes after the team had received the message, they had recovered a bicycle. Sadly, it was not the stolen one I had referred them to, but another one, along with a cellphone, various running shoes and a rucksack. These items were handed over to the police and the bicycle was reunited with its owner," she said.
"Generators are a valuable commodity in these times of load-shedding. Please ensure that your generators are securely locked up at all times," she advised.
