PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Plett Tourism announced that a local high school learner will be flying the Bitou flag high during the Miss Teen SA Pageant this year after being nominated as a finalist in this prestige competition.
Plett Tourism chief executive Patty Butterworth said that 17-year-old Anelisa Mbopa, a learner at Wittedrift High. School in Plettenberg Bay, had been nominated as a finalist in the pageant and will be gracing the stage at Emperors Palace between 27 and 29 May this year.
The Miss Teen South Africa Pageant aims to empower young girls and develop their confidence so that they can reach their potential.
"We wish her all the very best as she competes. Anelisa and her supporters will wear Plett Tourism branded Panama hats during their visit to Gauteng," Butterworth said.

The Miss Teen SA competition is a platform for youngsters between the ages of 14 and 19.
The first pageant was staged in 2018 and has grown to such an extent that it draws more than 1 000 entries across the country each year.
The contestants receive world-renowned training in addition to access to a mentorship programme to prepare them for the big stage and cultivate personal growth.
The pageant's mission is to help young girls embrace their power to make a real change, starting from their local community with the potential of reaching a global audience one day.
