Update
KNYSNA NEWSFLASH - Knysna resident Philip Bunge has been found guilty on a charge of culpable homicide by the Knysna Magistrate's Court, it was heard on Friday 20 April – almost three years after the death of Cape Town student Jared Lomas.
The case of murder was discharged and sentencing will take place on 11 June.
A large group of friends and family of the deceased attended the judgement, with many breaking down in tears, including Jared's father Lloyd Lomas.
Bunge was charged with murder and a second charge of culpable homicide following Lomas’ death during the Oyster Festival in 2015.
