KNYSNA NEWS - The National Strategic plan to end gender-based violence and femicide (NSPGBVF), a 100-Day Challenge workshop took place in the Knysna municipality Committee on Thursday, 24 March.
The workshop was in preparation for the 100-Day Challenge with the official day starting on 1 April.
Representatives from various departments and organisations, that work on child sexual and related offenses, were invited to set a goal to meet the challenge of expanding and improving current data.
The aim of management systems is to improve the quality of service to victims, survivors, and their families through better tracking the flow of data and cases through the justice system.
South African government declared gender-based violence and femicide a national crisis in 2019.
It was reported that a woman is murdered every three hours in South Africa and many are assaulted and raped before their death.
The program is mandated by the Presidency and the Department of Women under the auspices of the NSPGBVF Multi-sectoral Implementation Collaborative.
