KNYSNA NEWSFLASH - Knysna Secondary School learners had a very special assembly yesterday morning, Monday 12 March, when former Reserve Bank governor Gill Marcus paid them a visit.
The school governing body (SGB) of this Hornlee school invited Marcus in her capacity as representative of the Knysna Initiative for Learning and Teaching (KILT).
A special certificate was handed to the organisation in acknowledgement of the financial contribution the school received from KILT during 2017.
According to SGB chair Chris Spies, these funds were used to pay for extra teaching personnel, renovating of ablution facilities for the learners, appointment of cleaners and school security.
Marcus thanked the school for the acknowledgement.
