KNYSNA - Epilepsy SA South Cape/Karoo branch recently marked a significant milestone as they celebrated their 35th annual general meeting (AGM) on Tuesday 29 August. The event took place at their premises in Knysna Heights and was met with enthusiastic attendance from various interested parties, which left the organisation thrilled and grateful.
The AGM was filled with notable moments that highlighted the diverse aspects of the organisation's day-to-day operations.
One of the highlights was a captivating reel that showcased the multifaceted work carried out by Epilepsy SA South Cape/Karoo branch. This visual presentation provided a glimpse into the organisation's impactful initiatives and the lives they touch.
During the meeting, two plaques were presented as a token of appreciation to the Southern Cape Nomads golfers and the HP Smith Trust.
These organisations were recognised for their generous contributions towards renovating three flatlets on the Epilepsy SA South Cape/Karoo branch's property. The flatlets now serve as rental units, providing an additional source of sustainable income for the organisation.
In a heartfelt moment, branch director Lee-Anne van den Bergh extended a formal thank you to Mike Smerdon, the outgoing chairperson, for his invaluable years of service and dedication to the organisation.
Smerdon had served as chairperson for a significant period, and his leadership and commitment were deeply appreciated by the entire management board.
Epilepsy SA South Cape/Karoo branch expressed their gratitude to everyone who attended the AGM, emphasising how touched they were by the tremendous turnout. They hoped that the meeting provided a clearer understanding of their work and the ways in which they strive to make a difference.
With the continued support of the community and stakeholders, they remain steadfast in their mission to improve the lives of individuals affected by epilepsy.
