KNYSNA NEWS - The residents and day attendees at the Epilepsy SA South Cape/Karoo centre were treated to a special beach day recently, with the organisation receiving a helping hand to gift everyone a welcome ice-cream.
After cricket, beach days are the residents' and day attendees' favourite activity, and everyone always wears an ear-to-ear smile when they get to enjoy some fresh air. For the second beach day of the year, they again visited Green Hole on Leisure Isle, their favourite beach spot.
They were welcomed by perfect weather for a beach day - sunny skies with nothing more than a light breeze in the air.
Everyone quickly set up their beach stations with their towels and chairs and put up their feet to enjoy a bit of leisure time.
Unbeknownst to the residents, they would be given a special treat on the day - some soft serve ice-cream.
Attie Poerstamper was dressed up in real proper beach attire for his day out.
Willem Geldenhuys was chuffed to get a good helping of ice cream.
This came courtesy of a donation from the Helpende Hande Knysna branch that allowed Epilepsy SA South Cape/Karoo to hire an ice-cream truck for the day.
It was impossible to find a frown among the residents as they collected their ice-creams. Everyone was grateful for the special treat.
The residents had lunch at Green Hole and enjoyed the rest of their day out before making their way back to the centre in Rio Street.
Patricia Page thoroughly enjoyed the ice cream she got.
Andre Beytjies was careful to make sure he doesn't spill his ice cream.
