He was reported as missing by his parents in Knysna on Friday, August 8 after he had contacted them from the Wynberg Police Station.
The female companion's parents, who live in Cape Town, took him to Wynberg Police Station when he and their daughter arrived at their home.
The two had apparently hitch-hiked from Knysna.
Hennies told his parents that he was alright and that he would hitch-hike back to Knysna the very next day, but he has not been heard of since.
Hennies is 1.5m tall and weighs ± 80kg.
