KNYSNA NEWS - The Knysna-Sedgefield Hospice annual golf day held on Sunday 14 April raised an amazing R150 000 for the charity.
Held for the second year running at Pezula Championship Golf Course, Ilse van Staden of the Hospice events team said they are happy with the outcome.
"Despite forecasts of heavy rain, we were relieved when the day dawned clear and sunny with little threat of rain. After many weeks of tireless preparation the team welcomed 92 players to a day of competition, fantastic prizes, delicious food, fun and laughter. The gin on tap was a real winner as was the "fun photo" helped along, of course, by a glass of wine," said Van Staden.
"As always, none of this is ever possible without the generosity of all who contribute – the sponsors and donors, Pezula Golf Club and the helpers who give of their time. Hospice truly appreciates every contribution that made this event as successful as it was. The amount raised will go a long way in providing care for those in our community who need it most. Thank you!"
