GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Following deep cleaning and sanitising procedures this week, as well as inspections by the Department of Health, both the Game stores at the Knysna Mall and Garden Route Mall in George, have been re-opened.
This comes after both stores were forced to shut their doors earlier this week on Wednesday 20 May after a staff member from the Knysna branch who visited the George branch, tested positive for the coronavirus.
Although the exact date of the Knysna employee’s visit to George could not be confirmed, Game’s Corporate Reputation Manager, Michelle Kemp, assured the George Herald that all necessary precautions have been taken. According to her the staff member was never inside the store, he had no contact with any customers and minimal contact with fellow staff members.
“We assure you that health and safety in our stores remains a top priority for us. As the staff member in question from the Knysna store was undergoing training in the week leading up to their diagnosis, their contact with other staff was minimal. We continue to monitor the health of team members and continuously implement new practices and measures to ensure safety in our stores for our staff and our customers,” she said.
