KNYSNA NEWS – Knysna Provincial Hospital enjoyed a busy festive season in 2021/22, welcoming 10 newborn babies into the world on Christmas and New Year's days.
This is three more than last year, and equal to the amount of babies born on the two days in 2019/20.
The babies were also split evenly between Christmas and New Year's Day, with five born on each day.
On Christmas Day the first baby was a girl, born at 02:00 to mother Tahini Tshikila. Of the five babies born on Christmas day, four were girls and one was a boy.
On New Year's it was the turn of the boys to take the majority with three boys and two girls born on the first day of '22. The first baby was a boy born at 00:50 to mother Siphesihle Buyana.
