KNYSNA NEWS - After a successful recycling fashion show hosted by Knysna High School in early May, Ace Models will be following up with an environmentally themed fashion show in June.
If you have an eye for fashion and a passion for nature, then best make sure you don't miss out on the Fashion By Nature show coming up soon.
The show aims to incorporate various aspects of nature, be it by means of using recycled materials, or by literally using nature in the outfits – it's all up to you, the designer.
According to Charmaine Kruger, owner of Ace Models Knysna and Plett, designing an outfit for the show is as simple as "pinning leaves to a jacket or by covering an existing dress in netting that is used to pack onions/lemons in. One can then work the flowers/leaves trough the holes of the net," she explained.
She added that one can also simply design an outfit from recycled materials, such as old newspapers or plastic bags, to take part in one of the recycling categories.
Anybody who can put an outfit together is welcome to enter the show, which will only cost R100 for entrants.
There are various prizes to win, including spa vouchers at Simola and Turbine Spa. The event will take place on a ramp supplied by Woodmill Lane, attached to the gazebo in front of The Daily Coffee Shop, where patrons' tables will be set up around the ramp so that they will become incorporated into the show.
