KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
BURGLARY - LEAGUE STR (Thurs 7 February @ 00h30) – Officers dispatched to a panic signal and report of intruder climbing through the window. Owner reportedly intercepted intruder at the window and suspect fled. It was found that the suspect had dropped his phone in the property. Phone was handed over to SAPS for follow up. Case was opened.
BURGLARY - HILL STR (Thurs 7 February @ 07h26) - Client activated the panic after guest reported that they had break-in during the night. Suspect climbed onto balcony and entered at unlocked door. A wallet and Rolex watch were reported missing. SAPS were notified.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN STR (Fri 8 February @ 16h20) - Client reported that 3 suspects entered a hair salon. While staff were distracted, suspects stole hair products. SAPS were notified and description of the suspects was circulated from CCTV footage.
SHOPLIFTING - RAWSON STR (Fri 8 February @ 16h43) - Officer responded to panic alarm. Shop staff apprehended a suspect who stole meat. No case was opened and suspect was released.
THEFT - WATERFRONT DR (Sat 9 February @ 08h18) - Client reported theft of power tools. The tools had been left in the yard overnight. CCTV footage was supplied of suspect entering premises. Suspect was identified and arrested the following day. Visit our Facebook page for more info.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN STR (Sat 9 February @ 14h10) - Allsound guards reported that a suspect was caught shoplifting. Case was opened and suspect was handed over.
BURGLARY - GREEN STR (Sat 9 February @ 21h09) - Officer responded to alarm at premises and found burglar bars forced open and a pair of shoes beneath the window. Suspect was caught inside the building. Visit our Facebook page for more info.
BURGLARY - LONG STR (Sat 9 February @ 23h13) - Officers responded to alarm signal and found sliding door forced out. Suspect was found hiding on property. Case was opened and suspect charged. Visit our Facebook page for more info.
BURGLARY - WATERFRONT DR (Sun 10 February @ 07h04) - Client telephoned requesting assistance at unit where guests were staying. Suspect had entered via unlocked kitchen window. Guest reported a wallet stolen. SAPS were notified for case to be opened.
BURGLARY - TROTTER STR (Sun 10 February @ 23h42) - Client reported that a suspect was seen jumping over their wall. On arrival, guest at the property confirmed that suspect had entered their unit through open window and tried to steal a cellphone but fled when they woke up. Clothing description was supplied. A suspect was arrested later for unrelated charges who matched description.
BURGLARY - ST GEORGES STR (Mon 11 February @ 03h34) - Officer responded to alarm signal and found door forced open. Keyholder was notified and reported nothing visibly missing. No case was opened.
BURGLARY - TROTTER STR (Mon 11 February @ 04h10) - 3 Vehicle were dispatched to panic alarm and report of intruders on neighbours roof. Officer apprehended 2 suspects. Visit our Facebook page for full story.
BURGLARY - QUEEN STR (Mon 11 February @ 06h52) - Client reported that they had a break-in during the night. A flat-screen was reported missing. No signs of forced entry were found. Case was opened.
THEFT OUT OF M.V. - GREY STR (Tues 12 February @ 18h40) - Allsound Officer reported that a car was broken into. CCTV footage was reviewed and information passed on to SAPS. A bag with money and passports was reportedly missing.
THEFT OUT OF M.V. - MAIN STR (Wed 13 February @ 06h47) - Client reported that a guests vehicle was broken into. Owner confirmed that 1st aid kit was missing. SAPS were notified.
THEFT OUT OF M.V. - FICHAT STR (Wed 13 February @ 19h00) - Client reported that 2 guest vehicles were broken into. A backpack was stolen from the one and a GPS Tom Tom stolen from the other. Cases were opened.
EASTERN SUBURBS
THEFT OUT M.V. - HERONS WAY (Sun 10 February @ 03h05) - Officer responded to electric fence alarm and found fence was cut. A vehicle on the property was found to have been tampered with but nothing reported missing.
THEFT - HOLIDAY CRESC (Sun 10 February @ 19h52) - Client reported that a cordless phone, lights and toys were stolen from their stoep sometime during the night. No case was opened.
THEFT - HOLIDAY CRESC (Mon 11 February @ 05h18) - Officer responded to a panic alarm. Nightwatchman reported that a suspect stole a bicycle and fled. Bicycle was recovered shortly thereafter by Allsound Officers.
BURGLARY - MILKWOOD DR (Mon 11 February @ 15h00) - Client telephoned to report that they had a break-in during the night. An iPhone and Ipad were missing. It was unclear how suspects entered the premises. Client opened a case with SAPS.
BURGLARY - SONQAYI STR (Fri 8 February @ 21h36) - Officer responded to alarm signal and confirmed break-in at the premises. Door was forced opened. Keyholder reported nothing visibly missing from inside but outside lights were stolen off the building. They would open case in the morning.
THEFT FROM M.V.- PROGRESS RD (Sat 9 February @ 03h25) - Client requested assistance after neighbour reported an intruder on the property. It was found that a battery was stolen from truck.
BURGLARY - PROGRESS RD (Sat 9 February @ 12h20) - Client reported that a store at the back of premises was broken into. Client was unsure what was missing. No case opened at the time.
BURGLARY - VIGILANCE DR (Mon 11 February @ 09h29) - Client phoned in to report that back storeroom was broken into over the weekend. 2 Truck batteries were reported missing. Case was opened.
WESTERN AREAS
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY - SALT RIVER RD (Tues 12 February @ 12h55) - Client telephoned to report that a suspect armed with a panga tried to rob a gentleman. Suspect fled when the victim pulled out a BB gun. Suspect was apprehended by Allsound Officers and positively identified by the victim. Case was opened and suspect was handed over.
BURGLARY - RHEENENDAL RD (Sun 10 February @ 15h18) - Officer responded to alarm signal and reported that door and security gate were forced open. Food items were reportedly missing. No case was opened.
BURGLARY - RHEENENDAL RD (Mon 11 February @ 21h39) - Officer responded to alarm and found kitchen door forced open. Keyholder met officers on site and confirmed that a TV was missing. Case would be opened the following day.
