KNYSNA NEWS - Theft out of motor vehicles is again on the increase. Please ensure you leave nothing in your vehicles and, where possible, park in a locked and alarmed garage.
PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN STR (Sat 17 February @ 17h18) - Allsound guards reported that a suspect was apprehended for shoplifting. Item to the value of R1000 was recovered. Store manager declined to open a case and suspect had to be released.
BURGLARY - MAIN ROAD (Sat 17 January @ 19h38) - Officer responded to a panic alarm. A man was spotted in possession of stolen goods linked to a break-in the previous week. Man was taken to SAPS for questioning which later led to the arrest of a suspect and recovery of stolen items.
BURGLARY - GRAY STR (Mon 19 February @ 08h56) - Officer responded to panic alarm. Shop assistant reported that window was broken at the shop and a number of items of clothing were missing. Suspect used a stick to pull items through the broken glass. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
BURGLARY - GRAY STR (Mon 19 February @ 12h05) - Keyholder telephoned to report a break-in at the property, suspect to have happened overnight. 2 Bicycles were reported missing. Case was opened.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN STR (Mon 19 February @ 14h56) - Allsound Guards reported that suspect was caught for shoplifting. Case was opened and suspect was handed over to SAPS.
COMMON ROBBERY - MAIN STR (Mon 19 February @ 19h49) - Officer responded to panic alarm when a victim was robbed. Suspect was chased and was caught. Stolen items were recovered but victim declined to open a case and suspect was released.
BURGLARY - GRAY STR (Mon 19 February @ 20h50) - Officer responded to alarm signal and confirmed window was forced open. Keyholder was notified and reported that 7 dresses were missing. 2 possible suspects were apprehended but were unable to be positively linked to the break-in.
THEFT OF VEHICLE - SPRING STR (Wed 21 February @ 17h36) - Client reported that one of her staff members vehicle was stolen during the day. Description was given to Allsound Response to be on lookout. Case was opened with SAPS.

THEFT OUT M.V. - BOEKENHOUT STR (Tues 20 February @ 07h30) - Client telephoned to report car was broken into during the night. An Apple laptop, clothing and other small items were missing. Case was opened with SAPS.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - DAVIDSON STR (Tues 20 February @ 02h31) - Officer responded to alarm signal and reported damage found to window, wall and burglar bars. Keyholder was not available to attend. No entry to premises was visible.
HUNTERS HOME / REXFORD / FISHER HAVEN
THEFT OUT M.V. - KATONKEL STR (Sat 17 February @ 11h31) - Client reported that their vehicle was broken into during the night. A bag of power tools was stolen from the vehicle. SAPS were notified for a case to be opened.
BURGLARY - LINDSAY STR (Wed 21 February @ 03h34) - Client activated panic alarm and reported break-in at the property. Intruders had forced open door. A cellphone, cash, camera and sound system were stolen. SAPS were also notified. Area was searched but no suspects were found.
WELBEDACHT / EASTFORD
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - EASTFORD DOWNS (Sun 18 February @ 19h44) - Officer responded to alarm signal and found storeroom window open. Builder was notfied and confirmed attempted break-in but nothing missing from the room. No case was opened.
