KNYSNA NEWS - The Family and Marriage Society South Africa (Famsa) Knysna has four courses available to members of the public this month, with one having already taken place and another occurring today, 14 October.
Years ago Famsa's training was done exclusively to equip volunteers who were involved in the various activities and projects at the organisation.
It was found that the skills learned could be of benefit to most members of the community and growing interest was expressed by many who wanted to attend.
As a result, most of the training is now open to the public and after completion of specific courses, some may become volunteers for Famsa Knysna.
If each attendee applies the skills learnt only in his/her personal life, it will already have an enormous impact on the preservation of relationships and families.
These skills can also be applied in the working environment and can lead to improved productivity.
The courses are on depression (12 October), suicide (today, Thursday 14 October), divorce (Tuesday 19 October) and mental health (Thursday 21 October).
All courses cost R150, and are done via Zoom, except the suicide course which will take place face to face. Further information can be obtained from Famsa at knysna@famsa.org.za, telephonically on 044 382 5129, or via WhatsApp on 072 847 0322.
