KNYSNA NEWS - During an operation in Concordia this past weekend, police seized a large quantity of illicit drugs and alcohol as well as various Sassa and bank cards.
On Sunday 26 September at about 22:00, members of the Eden Cluster Crime Combatting Team acted on information about illicit activities at a house in Concordia.
"They ensued with a search and found two bankies of tik and cash in the possession of the homeowner," said Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies. "They continued with the search and discovered and confiscated 33 Mandrax tablets as well as 166 litres of alcohol."
In addition, police also confiscated an undisclosed number of South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) cards, various bank cards and identity documents.
Police arrested the 53-year-old man and he is being detained until his appearance in the Knysna Magistrate's Court this week once charged.
"He is facing charges of dealing in drugs, selling of liquor without a licence and contraventions of the National Credit Act," Spies explained.
