GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Organisers of the Garden Route Film Festival (Griff) have called on local filmmakers to submit their productions for consideration for the second edition of the festival next month.
The virtual festival, running from 23 September to 12 October, will provide a platform for filmmakers to showcase their works of art.
But, in order for films to be considered for the Griff, they must first be submitted, and organisers have put out a call for any late entries.
The ordinary deadline for submissions is Friday 13 August, but there is a late dead-line for filmmakers in September.
Submissions in the feature films, short films, and documentary categories will be accepted until 2 September, while sub-missions can be made in the students' films category until 22 September.
Filmmakers will be notified if their entry was successful upon the start of the festival on 23 September.
There are fees payable along with each entry and each entry must be accompanied with a link to MP4, Mov or Avi download link (or FilmFreeway link) for the film; a link to trailer download; a poster; a synopsis of 20 words or more; and a thumbnail picture.
Submissions can be made via the FilmFreeway website or through the Griff website, www.gardenrouteinternationalfilmfestival.com. Further requirements for submissions and what will be expected of each entry can be found on the same websites.
In addition to the films that will be in competition during the festival, audiences will be able to engage and learn from industry experts and directors through the festival's In Focus page. The industry programme is also a source of information with panels, pod-casts and webinars on offer.
