PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Police dog Blackie saved the day after two burglaries on Sunday morning 20 September in the Schoongezicht Estate in Piesang Valley, Plettenberg Bay.
Local police spokesperson Captain Marlene Pieterse said during the first burglary, suspects managed to gain access to a home by breaking a window and then opened a door from the inside. "A Samsung television set was stolen. It was later recovered in the area," Pieterse said.
During the second incident, suspects broke a sliding door to gain access. "A Hisense plasma television was stolen and has not yet been recovered."
Pieterse said fingerprints were found at the homes and a 40-year-old suspect was arrested on the scene.
Blackie sniffed out the suspect in dense bushes in the estate.
Kwanokuthula police are investigating two burglary and theft cases. The suspect is due to appear in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate's Court this week.
