PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Bitou Law Enforcement's crime prevention unit is proving its mettle after at least two successes over the past week.
On Monday 7 November officers managed to recover a high-end e-bike in Kranshoek and handed it over to Plettenberg Bay Police.
The Specialised Levo e-bike was stolen from Outeniqua Estate in Meeding Street during the night of Saturday 5 November. The officers managed to track down the bike in Kranshoek.
No arrests have however been made.
Last week officers of the same unit arrested a man at the taxi rank in Marine Way after it was discovered that he was in possession of Mandrax and tik.
The suspect was taken to the Plettenberg Bay police station where he will be detained until his court appearance on charges of drug possession.
"Once again this highlights the fact that drugs are in abundance in our town," said Lisa Nagel of Plett.Watch.

"Many of the people who are caught in possession of drugs are paid by dealers to sell their drugs, and also by users to obtain drugs. Until we can stop this culture of making use of the vulnerable and desperate in our communities to supply, drug peddling will not stop.
"Many drug addicts behave badly, and with lack of any fear, inhibitions or common sense, resort to unacceptable behaviour in society. This behaviour can be dangerous and is often aggressive."
Nagel thanked the officers for their efforts.
