PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - A motorcyclist died in an accident near Keurbooms in Plettenberg Bay on Saturday 13 July.
Police spokesperson Captain Marlene Pieterse said the accident between a motorcycle and a truck travelling in the same direction, occurred on the N2 at about 08:00.
"A 39-year-old man was travelling on his motorcycle from Knysna to Jeffreys Bay to attend a funeral," Pieterse said.
As the motorcyclist approached the bend on Keurbooms hill, she said, he encountered a maroon Mercedes Benz truck and crashed into the back of the truck's large trailer.
"The driver of the truck heard the impact and pulled over. When he stopped he saw the helmet, the motorcycle and the motorcyclist in the road," Pieterse said, adding that the man succumbed to his injuries.
"A case of culpable homicide is being investigated," Pieterse said.
