KNYSNA NEWS - Two armed robberies recently took place in the Knysna area.
First incident:
There was an armed robbery on Rushmere Farm in Sedgefield (on the Karatara road) on 8 November.
It is alleged that five suspects with two revolvers and three knives, tied up the tenants, ransacked the house and made off with their jewellery, money and other small items.
The incident took place at about 20:30.
Knysna SAPS captain, Dewald Kitching said the 29-year-old complainant went outside to inspect after hearing their dog barking and was met by three coloured men, two of which were armed. The suspects tied up the man and his parents with cable ties.
"After they took off, the complainant managed to free himself and his parents and then called the police."
Kitching said the men fled on foot.
He added: "The SAPs walked and searched the area, but the search was unsuccessful. There wasn't a clear description of the suspects but anyone with information that might assist with the case can please contact investigating officer sergeant Vusumzi Xokozela on 044 302 6652."
Second incident
The second incident took place on 12 November at Eastford Downs at about 22:30.
It is alleged that three men wearing balaclavas robbed a couple, stealing jewellery and money.
One man was armed.
Kitching said no arrests were made, but anyone with information can call Sergeant Xolani Petros 044 302 6652.
