Captain Bernadine Steyn, spokesperson for the Southern Cape Police said the police were not in a position to identify the targeted filling station to the public.
The Knysna Police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies said a 42-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the business robbery. "It is alleged that the suspect, dressed in cricket sportswear, entered the shop. The suspect, armed with a fire-arm, demanded cash from the 30-year-old cashier. He took an undisclosed amount of cash before he fled from the scene."-
Spies said a member of the Tsitsikamma Dog Unit noticed a black Mitsubishi Outlander vehicle, that had allegedly been used in the robbery, in Green Street. "The vehicle was stopped and searched. An undisclosed amount of cash was found inside." According to Spies, further investigation took the police to an apartment where the suspect resides. "Other items that were positively linked to this incident were found at the flat and confiscated." -
