PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Old Nick Village is hosting an exhibition of seven of Plettenberg Bay's contemporary artists, aptly named New Art @ Old Nick, as part of the Plett Arts Festival.
The artists are Donnè Rundle, Anne Clarke, Carol Sachs, Jonathan Davis, Dorothe Bekker, Juliet Goddard and Caroline Fine.
As each artist explores their inner identity, the viewer is offered the opportunity to perceive it through their own unique perspective. From abstract art to photography, water colour to digital, they celebrate the artists' singular authenticity.
Experience various art processes exploring ancient rituals and belief systems, stormy seas and misty autumn scenes, the curious connection between the past and the otherworldly, our universal connectivity and free-spirited emancipation.
Donnè Rundle, one of the exhibitors, facilitates the art programme for Lunchbox Theatre's after school activity programme. The programme offers young people the opportunity to partake in weekly dance, art and drama classes, equipping them with a broad spectrum of skills that they will be able to apply in all areas of their lives. A stunning piece measuring 4m x 3m, the work of Formosa Primary's special needs kids, will be showcased in the entrance of Mungo Mill.
The exhibition will be held in the Old Museum, the Passage Gallery and the entrance of Mungo Mill, inviting visitors to stroll around the village and enjoy the tranquil gardens and newest sculpture by Chip Snaddon. Everyone is warmly invited to the exhibition's opening night on Thursday 20 June from 16:00 to 18:00.
The exhibition will run daily from 10:00 to 15:00 from 21 to 28 June. All works are for sale.
