PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Bitou's municipal law enforcement squad managed to recover an unusual haul and arrest the alleged thieves last week.
Plettenberg Bay Crime Prevention Association (PBCPA) operations head Otto Olivier said local homeowners recently reported that a large leather couch had been stolen from their home.
After sifting through CCTV footage, the alleged thieves were identified and information was circulated among crime response groups.
"This led to various leads and information," Olivier said. "The magnificent municipal law enforcement crime prevention squad found the couch and arrested two suspects of which one transported the stolen goods."
Olivier saluted the officers, Mzo Seyisi, Sivenathi Kika, Phindwe Mani, Sidwell Ndabeni and Mzodidi Sohopu "for their continued resilience, commitment and professionalism".
Bitou law enforcement officers Mzo Seyisi and Sidwell Ndabeni also helped to recover the stolen couch.
