These arrests were made during various crime prevention operations, which includes operation Fiela.
A total of 88 suspects were arrested for drug related offences. The offences includes dealing in drugs and possession of drugs. Members of the police confiscated dagga, tik, cocaine and mandrax during these arrests.
A total of ten suspects were arrested for driving motor vehicle whilst under the influence of liquor, 22 for possession of suspected stolen property, six for possession of dangerous weapon and 1 for selling liquor without a liquor licence.
Other arrests were for housebreaking and theft, rape, shoplifting and minor crimes. A number of suspects were also arrested on outstanding warrants of arrest.
The Station Commander for the Knysna police, Colonel Michael Taylor, said that similar operations will be conducted in further preparation for the festive season.
