According to Sergeant Chris Spies, communications officer, information available indicates that the boy arrived at Fraaisig Primary School in Hornlee on Friday morning where he attends school. Accoording to the police he arrived at school, but didn’t attend class and left the school premises again. The missing boy was last seen by a fellow learner that travels with him to the school.
He was dressed in a white long-sleeved top with a Mickey Mouse logo on the front and three quarter trousers at the time of his disappearance.
After family members alerted the police a search operation was immediately launched and police visited houses of family members as well as friends in the Khayalethu and Dam-Se-Bos areas.
The search operation was expanded on Saturday, February 14 and a search party consisting of members of the Knysna police, Dog-unit with search and rescue dogs, a team from the Knysna Municipality Disaster Management department, Knysna Pathology services, members of the Knysna Community Police Forum, neighbourhood watch volunteers and members of the community. The area surrounding Fraaisig Primary School, Nekkies, Oupad and Dam-Se-Bos were searched throughout the day.
“We want to urge the public to come forward with any information that may assist in tracing this missing boy. All information will be dealt with confidentially.”
