Update
Family grief and community outrage marked the first court appearance of a Knysna man, Mervyn Bock, who stands accused of murdering his girlfriend, Velia Angelique Strydom.
Strydom's body, already in an advanced state of decomposition, was discovered on 12 December near Red Bridge.
The state has opposed Bock's release, and a formal bail application is scheduled for 14 January. Bock was remanded in custody.
