KNYSNA | BITOU NEWS - While registrations for the Covid-19 vaccine in the Western Cape are slowly increasing, one of Knysna's long-standing vaccine sites has closed this week.
The Knysna Town Hall was one of the first vaccine sites to open to the public in Knysna when the vaccine roll-out started in 2021 and has remained open till now.
However, Western Cape Department of Health spokesperson Nadia Ferreira confirmed the closure of the site on Monday 30, stressing that vaccines will still be administered at clinics in and around Knysna.
As at Monday 30 May, the Western Cape has seen 3 013 534 registrations for the Covid-19 vaccine, 53,69% of the eligible population.
In the Garden Route a total of 262 391 people have registered for the vaccine, 53,00% of the eligible population.
In Knysna there has been a total of 37 043 vaccine registrations, which is 64,53% of the eligible population. Bitou has seen a total of 22 811 vaccine registrations, 53,68% of the eligible population.
