PLETTENBERG BAY NEWSFLASH - Plettenberg Bay’s growing wine industry is set to be celebrated in style during the fourth annual Plett Wine & Bubbly Festival next month – despite a bumpy start.
After the event was initially postponed following the withdrawal of main sponsor Sasfin, the Bitou municipality came to the rescue and pledged its support, and now it's all systems go.
The event, scheduled for 25 and 26 November at Central beach, is geared to showcase more than 30 different wines from nine local producers.
To complement the wines, local kitchen aces will also have their scrumptious meals available during the festival.
“Guests will be able to eat local and drink local. This is great news for food and wine lovers along the Garden Route and beyond – a fantastic experience with the gorgeous Indian Ocean as the backdrop,” says Plett Tourism media manager.
The first day of the festival will start with a showcase of the local wines and the opportunity to try artisan cheeses, charcuterie, breads, savouries and oysters while being entertained by local musicians.
DJ Maurice will be providing soothing tunes to match the wine and food, and there will also be a performance by Rumour Has It, Tigger Reunert and Charlie Finch.
