PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The Young Professionals drama group will be debuting their original play, Miss Morris, at the Theatre Arts stage in Observatory, Cape Town from 19 to 21 January.
The production team is made up of writer and director Samual Jumat and performers Lindie Strombeck, Michaela Whaites, Marveen Charles, Justin Thomas and Leonique Jacobs.
The actors, who have dedicated long hours to come together and put on a production that will see them debuting the play on a prominent stage which champions independent productions, are from Plettenberg Bay and Knysna.
"It is an absolute privilege to work with such aspiring, hard-working and well-committed actors who wear their hearts on their sleeve," says director Samuel Jumat.

"It's a learning process, a tears and a goosebumps experience."
Miss Morris aims to evoke boundary-pushing contemplation of the educator-learner relationship. It digs deeper than just teaching as it highlights the role of teachers in local areas.
This piece is based on a true story and written by the drama group's very own Samuel Jumat, who is a teacher himself.
The story emphasises how teachers' classroom lessons become life lessons, how today's teachers must be much more than just teachers and that 'it takes a village to raise a child'.
Tickets for the performance are available from the Theatre Arts website.
