KNYSNA NEWS - An actor from Knysna, Graeme Mkhalimi Kriega, is showcased in the second season of the television drama series called Bone Of My Bones which airs on Thursday evenings on SABC 2.
The charismatic Kriega grew up in Knysna and studied live performance and scriptwriting among others at the Afda School for the Creative Economy (formerly known as Africa Film Drama Art), before making his debut appearance in 2013 playing a character by the name of Creepy in the SABC 1 drama Tempy Pushas.
In the current season, Kriega plays the role of a young, corrupt police officer known as "Molebo". "Although I can't say what actually happens to him in the end, I can tell you that he's a very corrupt cop" he said.
Kriega revealed that this season is action-packed, gripping, entertaining with a bit of comic relief. "So people can just stay at home quarantined while enjoying the drama series."
After making his appearance in Afrikaans soapie 7de Laan, Kriega has acted in many other productions including the drama series Donkerland, MTV Suga, Ashes to Ashes, a South African movie Table Manners and in the movie Madiba starring American actor Laurence Fishburne.
Kriega's advice for Knysna's young people with big dreams comes from his own experiences, he said. "It comes from the fact that I'm a Knysna-born and I've experienced the lifestyle." He added that anybody wanting to be anything should not conform to the DNA of their particular environment. "They should rather work outside of it, and while working outside the DNA, try to sharpen your skill," he said.
