PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The Bats are back…this time with a production of the hilarious series Fawlty Towers.
The Bitou Amateur Theatrical Society (Bats) is ready to entertain audiences with a reworked production of the original 12-part television series into a successful stage production.
Bats first delighted audiences 10 years ago under the guidance of former South African television personality David Hall-Green and has since grown into a force to be reckoned with on stage, with eight productions under its belt.
The Bats team say there are few people who had not seen or heard of John Cleese's iconic sitcom Fawlty Towers and its hilarious episodes set in a dysfunctional hotel in Torquay in the United Kingdom.
"The members of Bats have had enormous fun rehearsing, building and decorating the set and they are confident that our local audiences will love this local production," says Marsja Hall-Green.
As in the past, David Hall-Green directs the action, ably assisted by his hard-working local amateur thespians.
As usual, the production serves not only to entertain audiences and to give a platform for amateur actors to develop their skills, but to also raise funds for a worthy cause.
The Plettenberg Bay Animal Welfare Society (Paws) will again benefit from the proceeds.
The production will take place at the St Peter's Anglican Church hall in Church Street from 26 to 30 September from 19:30 to 21:20.
