NATIONAL NEWS - The South African swimming team will be bringing home a total of eight medals (three gold, two silver and three bronze), two Deaf World Records and one Championship Record, after the 2015 World Deaf Swimming Championships concluded in San Antonio, Texas last night.

During the final day of the competition, Peggy de Villiers led from start to finish in the 100m butterfly to end the race with the gold medal and a new Deaf World Record with a time of 1:03.69.

Earlier on in the week, De Villiers set a new Deaf World Record in the 50m butterfly, a new Championship Record in the 50m freestyle and claimed the silver medal in the 100m freestyle and bronze in the 200m freestyle events.
