KNYSNA NEWS - On Sunday 29 October, members of the Fish Eagles Masters Swimming Club gathered at Groenvlei to have a practice open-water swim and to build team spirit for the masters nationals in Pretoria in March 2018.
From left: Lindy Murray; Lanie Farrelly; Jill Black; Tanya Livingstone; Judy Dixon; Hannah Dos Santos; Adelia dos Santos; Sergio Dod Santos; Andre Weidman and Mike McDonald.
It was also a celebration of the eventual arrival of medals won at the nationals in East London this year.
Fortunately, the water was clear and calm so the group set off and swam a kilometre before the chairperson, Judy Dixon, presented the medals.
All participants declared the afternoon a great success and worth repeating regularly.
Getting together can be a problem because members range from Mossel Bay to Plettenberg Bay, with one member in Cape Town.
The next gala is in Oudtshoorn on 18 November, so training is happening in earnest.
