During the course of the three days' play, the lead changed hands several times, but in the end the team skipped by Gus Smith of The Woods Bowling Club in Port Elizabeth and consisting of Fergie Ferguson (Leisure Isle), Ian Ballantine (Leisure Isle), and Dan Thysse (The Woods) finally prevailed on a score of 107 points over from Peter Jeens' team of Ralph Sparg, Salie van Heerden and Claus Schmitz, all of Knysna Bowling Club, which finished on 100 points.
It was the tenth consecutive event with major sponsor, Personal Trust International and Mark Gibbs (MD of the group) and Johann van der Westhuizen (manager of the Knysna office) both participated in the event.
