KNYSNA NEWS - Grade 8 Knysna Secondary School learner Raylene Rhode recently proved she is one of Knysna's finest upcoming netball stars when she was selected for the U14 Western Cape netball team.
The first round of trials for the Eden District team was held for U14s to U18s on Wednesday 13 April and Tuesday 19 April.
A number of trials followed, culminating in the final round on 13 and 14 May, where the girls battled it out for a spot in the Western Cape team.
Schoolgirls from around the province converged on Oudtshoorn for the final, which was organised by Western Cape Schools Netball and the Western Cape Provincial Sports Confederation and held at Oudtshoorn High School.
Raylene - who also plays club netball for the Knysna Loeries - was the only one among several Knysna and Plettenberg Bay representatives who qualified for the provincial team.
