KNYSNA BOXING NEWS - The annual Oyster Festival Boxing Tournament took place at Concordia High School on Saturday 29 June, with just under 100 boxers from all over the region coming out to take part in the competition.
The competition kicked off with the boxers' weigh-ins just before 13:00, with the fights and official competition starting after 14:00.
The tournament featured boxers from every corner of the Southern Cape, with a number of fights taking place throughout the course of the afternoon. One of the participating teams of fighters was the Masiphakame Boxing Club from Dam-se-Bos, with 11 fighters taking part in the tournament.
One of these, Lwanda Madikane, who is also the club's coach, managed to earn victory, with two fighters not getting opponents, and seven fighters losing their bouts while one Masiphakame fighter came out with a draw.
