NATIONAL NEWS - India secured a 3-0 series victory as they completed a hard-fought 337-run victory over South Africa on the fifth day of the fourth test at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi on Monday.

Offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 5-61 but it was a superb spell of fast, reverse-swing bowling from Umesh Yadav after tea that broke the back of South Africa’s batting as the tourists were bowled out for 143 off 143.1 overs.

Yadav served up a spell of 6-6-0-3 either side of the tea break to end with innings figures of 3-9 off 21 overs while left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja ended with 46-33-26-2.

The Proteas had battled manfully during their innings in search of an unlikely draw but Yadav was at the heart of a post-tea collapse which saw South Africa lose five wickets in 31 balls.
