KNYSNA CRICKET NEWS - Knysna Cavaliers Cricket Club has extended an invitation to all women in Greater Knysna who are interested in taking up cricket, with clinics and matches lined up for the coming weeks.
For the 2019/20 South Western Districts (SWD) Cricket Premier League, a number of Cricket SA (CSA) requirements have been put in place for implementation.
One such is that each premier league club must have a women's cricket team, as SWD will be rolling out a women's league this season.
Seeing as before there haven't been any women's cricket structures in place at Cavaliers, the club has now put out an invitation to any and every woman who would be interested in playing cricket – even if you've never played before and would like to start. Cavaliers, in coordination with Sport at Backward Point (SABP), will thus be holding a women's cricket meeting and demonstration net session at the Knysna Sports Academy on Saturday 31 August.
This will be held at 10:00, once an SABP "introduction to scoring" clinic has concluded. This will set up the perfect platform for the women who want to take up cricket, as a week later a women's introductory match will be played at the SABP facilities in Rheenendal on Saturday 7 September.
