Olympics 2012 gold medallists Chad le Clos and Cameron van der Burgh are among some of the medal hopefuls, along with the likes of Wayde van Niekerk, Caster Semenya and the Springboks Seven.
Team SA has been set the challenge of achieving at least 10 medals this year – that’s four more than their 2012 target.
But Oosthuizen believes the team has what it takes.
“We acknowledge and appreciate the athletes’ finesse, expertise and prowess in your specific discipline of sport.”
Gold medal recipients will also walk away with a cash incentive of R500,000, silver will take home R250,000 and while bronze medallists will bag R100,000.
