SEDGEFIELD NEWS - Luke Gauche of Myoli Beach in Sedgefield excelled with a silver medal in U20 longjump at the Athletics SA (ASA) Junior Athletics Championships in Paarl recently.
Luke, an ex Glenwood House learner who is now furthering his studies at the University of Pretoria, has participated in the ASA championships over the past six years and every year managed a better position.
On Saturday 30 March he achieved his personal best jump of 7.33m – 5cm behind gold.
He will go on to participate at an ASA Seniors meeting later this month in Germiston, where he will get to compete against world champion Luvo Manyonga and the world number 3, Rushwaal Samaai.
