Esra Isaacs is a local community member from George who joined the Soul Food team to work with local retailers and the farming community to help feed impoverished people in his community. During Covid-19 in 2020, Esra returned to his roots and found his calling by joining up with Soul Food Africa and going out to liaise and develop relationships with local retailers to obtain food items that he can deliver to needy children and people in and around the George region. Soul Food has seven regions across South Africa and delivers over 1.2 million meals a month to schools, community centers, soup kitchens, and other organizations that need assistance. Soul Food relies on corporate and individual sponsorships and donations in addition to vital aid from retailers' support. Retailers like Checkers, Boxer, and Woolworths are regular and vital supporters of Esra, and their donated products are distributed in and around local communities. It is an honor to work with and represent Esra and his colleagues at Soul Food
