KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna Municipality has appointed yet another acting municipal manager, Roland Butler, who took over the position on Monday 31 October.
The decision to appoint Butler was made during a council meeting on Thursday 27 October.
According to a municipal social media statement, Butler is a seasoned local government official who has served in more than five municipalities.
“He brings a wealth of experience in both the private sector and senior management experience in local government, with a career span of over 40 years,” the statement said.
At the same meeting, a decision was also made to appoint Marlene Boyce, a long-time employee at the municipality, as the acting director of planning and economic development. “Ms Boyce is no stranger to the municipality and previously managed this directorate.”
These acting appointments are valid for a period of three months or until the process to permanently fill these positions is finalised.
