SEDGEFIELD NEWS & VIDEO - Residents of the Smutsville community in Sedgefield have been burning objects in the streets since last night, Thursday 14 June due to housing issues in the area.
Members of the Public Order Police and other police officials are on the scene.
Rubber bullets and tear gas was used.
For now, the community seems to have calmed down and all fires are under control.
According to Smutsville ward councillor Lavael Davis, both the mayor and municipal manager of Knysna are on their way to visit the community.
The community have also asked that policing units on the scene disperse, but they remain to watch over the situation.
No roads are closed.
