KNYSNA NEWS FLASH - Minister of Transport Dipuo Peters and Lindiwe Sisulu, Minister for Human Settlements, were in Knysna today to sign an agreement to transfer 72 hectares of South African National Road Agency Limited (SANRAL) owned land to the Department of Human Settlements for housing development.
Through the Housing Development Agency (HDA), an entity of the Department of Human settlement, necessary studies will be conducted on the land in preparation for a People Housing Process (PHP) which emphasises strong community involvement in housing development.
Both Ministers and Deputy Minister of Human Settlements Zou Kota-Fredericks will also engage in a community Imbizo with the focus being on issues of service delivery.
Ministers were joined by CEOs of SANRAL Nazir Alli, Pascal Moloi of HDA, members of the community, representatives of the local business community and transport stakeholders and VIP’s from the municipality.
