NATIONAL NEWS - Grey High School has been rocked by allegations of bullying after an internal inquiry found four matric boys guilty of “serious misconduct related to offensive language and oppressive behaviour” involving a Grade 8 pupil at its hostel.

The younger boy was allegedly assaulted and subjected to months of emotional and physical abuse by the older boys, according to a source close to his family, who did not want to be named.

The school dismissed the claims as “devoid of truth”, but admitted that some bullying had taken place.

“Unfortunately, it is a reality of life that sporadic incidences of bullying do occur, which need to be dealt with in a positive manner,” a statement from the school read.
