NATIONAL NEWS & VIDEO - Meiringspoort remains closed due to flash flooding last evening, 3 November. 

According to Gerhard Otto from Garden Route District Municipality Disaster Management, teams will clean the road today.

Trucks were also found stuck in the mud at Meiringspoort this morning. 

This has impacted the time of when the poort will be opened. Please continue to avoid the road until further notice. 

Clean-up operations are still underway on both sides leading from Klaarstroom and De Rust.
